NOTD: Happy Halloween (literally)

Hi y'all!

It's been a while since my last post-- I apologize. but work has been (and apparently will continue to be) very, very evil.  I believe that's why I slanted towards the sweet side of Halloween this year.

Granted I am by no means a "dark-type" in personality.  But I was willing to go a bit out there this Halloween (with my costume).  Then I did w'iddle mummies last week!

Mummie!
100% inspired by the mani the nice lady at the DMV was sporting,
when I went to renew my license. (Bad, over-processed cellphone pic.)

For the curious (and if you're reading thus far, you are =) I used the inner guts of a pen as a dotting tool for the eyes. Fitting, no?  ^_Q

Actually this was the mani that wouldn't die.  After I got bored of the gray (China Glaze's Hunger Games Stone Cold and some corner swipes of Jordana's Bronze Fest) I took it all off and went bright orange, with Barry M Coral and L'Oreal Coral Starfish.  That accented the mummies much better (sadly, no pics, sorry).

But that wasn't my Halloween mani.  This was ^_^

31 Day Challenge - Day 8: metallic

Hi!

I feel a little guilty posting today's challenge.  Let me show you first and elaborate on my nonsense later:

31 Day Challenge - Day 1: red

Hi!

The last 2 weeks have been very rough, bot in life in general and on my nails.  I'm back to work in the classroom and everything is new there. (If you're really curious, I can point you towards my teaching blog.)

As much as work is sucking the life out of me, I think I need to force the life back into me.  (I have not been a happy camper this last week in particular.)  Which is why I'm going to join the 30 Day September Nails Challenge.  I haven't found any strict rules or how-to list.  Therefore I am going to set my own rules for myself & this blog:  my personal goal is to post a challenge mani picture, every day, to correspond with the challenge 'menu' below.

This doesn't mean that I will change my mani every single day (I don't know if I can manage that).  This is also a way that I can work on harder nail art manis (which terrify me, btw) on the weekend when I have more time (and I don't have to keep them on if they're a horrible mess).  Oh and this is not an "untrieds" challenge for me.  I did that this summer on vacation, and wore 50 untrieds from my stash. =)

Here we go!  Let's have some fun!

Spotted: Finger Paints Fall of Surprises Collection

Hi!

Today I went out thrifting (i.e. shopping at thrift stores).  I'm looking for things for my classroom, so CHEAP is The Word.  Made out like a boss by the way. ;-)  Anyhoo...

In between thrift stores I popped into Sally's, just because I hadn't been there in a while and I knew that the Hunger Games polishes have been clearanced.  (I really want Primrose.  They didn't have it. Sadness.)  I did get Hunger Games' Agro, because it was $1.50 and because Goose's Glitter made me want it.

BUT the most interesting thing I came across was this...
